Default Sketch of a New Original Tune

Thought you all might enjoy this sketch of a new song.

I wrote the bridge about 3 years ago and have probably attempted to bolt it on to about 10 songs between now and then, but it never worked. The other day I decided to let it drive the melody, and the song just fell out in an afternoon. I tracked a version of that, took it home, and decided to add in a couple of lines that night. I popped back into our studio to re-track it the next morning (it was early and this was just before a sinus infection wrecked my voice, so apologies for some of the wobbly bits).

Guitar is a Waterloo WL-12.

Recorded with two AKG 414s—one on guitar and one on the vocal. Vocal went through an LA610 and guitar through one of the Apollo preamps. No plugins on anything except for some light EQ and some Valhalla chamber reverb.

I can't get it to embed because there's a naughty word, apparently, in the title/URL itself, but here's a link to it.

Edit: Ugh. It has the word "****ed" in the title and filename and AGF keeps inserting asterisks to keep from offending y'all's delicate sensibilities *even in the link*

Track removed apparently. Try cleaning up the title.

Fixed it with a shortened URL! The link works—but I still can't embed it without re-uploading the file and changing the name and I'm too lazy to do that right now.

Sounds very nice.

But did you have to include clearing your throat at the beginning?

I actually like to leave stuff like that in (and the sigh at the end). It's just a sketch so I don't forget how to play it. I was just beginning to get sick.

We left in my throat clearing here, too (it had been a very late night):

A sigh is one thing. Clearing your throat is something much grosser.

Not everyone will think so. But no song can afford to turn off a percentage of it's audience before it even gets started.
