Default Gerber guitar played by me (Ryan Gerber)

I recently finished up a new guitar and thought I would do my best to make a recording before it left my shop.

The guitar is an RL15.5 with walnut back and sides and Swiss moon spruce soundboard.

It was recorded with a matched pair of Neumann KM184, into the RME babyface pro.

I like to try and write something new with each new guitar, and this is what came from spending a couple of weeks with this guitar.

Hope you like it!

Ryan

Very well done on all accounts! It's great to see a builder who plays well too!

Must really add to the gratification factor when it's done and it sings the first time for you!

From what I can see of the walnut, it looks like a particularly wonderful set (Claro?)

Before becoming a member on the forum I had no idea of the difference in acoustic guitars. They all sounded good to me🙀

Now, four years later I somewhat understand why different guitars sound so different than others. The woods, the shapes, the depth, the scale length, and on and on and on...

But I do know this, right here, right now, your creation sounds what my mind tells me a good guitar is supposed tho sound like. One that can just about bring tears to your eyes as a fellow guitarist. It sounds absolutely grand. Nicely done.

Many thanks! Playing guitar is certainly what led me to making guitars. It is walnut. Not 100% certain but I think it's black walnut.

Does not matter what it's made of. You built to the wood. Nice guitar, nice sound, nice playing. What's the price on the instrument ?

Wow......really enjoyed the composition.....how impressive that you can both play and build on such a level.

I’m trying to decide if I now feel inspired.....or demoralized....but thanks for sharing either way.
