Default Si Bheag Si Mhor (agus e ag cur baisti)

So I was playing in my kitchen this morning and I went back to this one that I started trying to learn last November. As I was taking a practice run (just into my phone, quick and dirty), the rain came in pretty heavy - it adds to the atmosphere if nothing else *

This is based on Pete Huttlinger's interpretation, which is lovely and a lot more accessible for someone like me than e.g. the incredible recordings of the tune Tony McManus (everyone go listen to Pete Huttlinger, and Tony McManus, that's the takeaway here).

I played it on my Martin SC-13E which is kind of my go to guitar right now, as my 000-28 still awaits a set-up to address it's extremely high action. I'm getting to the stage where I'll have a go at the saddle myself...

* The tune is Si Bheag Si Mhor by Carolan. "agus e ag cur baisti" is Irish for "and it's raining" which I've added to reflect the FX in the background This is what we call a grand soft day in Dublin.

As always thank you for listening and I love to hear your comments, feedback, advice and anything else you have on your mind.

Coler,

Beautiful! One of my favorite tunes (much less arrangements of it!) and you played it wonderfully. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for listening and for your kind words everyone. It means a lot.

No way I could have played it like that 12 months ago so happy with progress - and still plenty of room for improvement so looking forward to seeing where I can go with it.

Very beautiful, Coler. Thanks for sharing! I'd like to download the notation for it. Did you download or did you figure it out by yourself? Is it in a tuning?

Thanks for listening Karen.

You can get tab for Pete's version here from the Pete Huttlinger website for 3.95:

https://www.petehuttlinger.com/shop/...egory=11052197

That's what I used but my attempt is not by any means a good version of Pete's
