I'm so glad you thought this came across well!

It did take some time. A project like this occupies much of my thoughts as I'm going through it for a week or two. But in retirement it's good for me to have something to occupy my energy and provide motivation. I am not good at just sitting around.

I do have the advantage of having done a lot of recording and performing in the past, and I have also done a few of these multi-track video projects in recent years so that I have learned a lot about how to do them.

I'm very gratified that you appreciate the result of a project like this! Thanks for taking the time to let me know!

Beautiful Glenn! Great arrangement and performance. Bob Seger's music brings me a feeling of contentment and comfort, maybe because most of his hits came during a formative time of my life - this one in high school. I can't remember, but I might have owned this album. I enjoyed your video so much!

Yes, Bob Seger had a bunch of hits back in the late 70s and early 80s. I need to go back and remind myself of all the stuff he did. He was a very good songwriter, and he had an appealing voice and was backed up by a good band.

I'm glad you appreciated my attempt at covering "Against the Wind." My acoustic cover is quite a bit different from Bob Seger's original recording.

It's interesting how these various songs hit each of us, depending on our age. It seems that the stuff we listened to in high school was pretty much the apex of our musical awareness.

It's obvious that you've been to many rodeo's in your days.

I'm close to retirement age myself (64 in 2 months).

I've been playing since I was around 10 performed and played in many shows and countless bands as well as solo work.

I am totally aware of what is involved, as a player, arranger, and vocalist, never mind wearing the production hat as you do.

Your work is nothing short of stellar. You do a masterful job at this. It's an inspiration to dinosaurs like me, near and far!

Keep up the good work Glenn, I think we all enjoy the Glenn Willow vids quite a lot.

And thank you, too, for the kind comments on my vocal work. I was lucky. I wasn't dealing with a cold or allergies, and I had practiced enough that my voice was in pretty good shape. Even so, I did spend quite a few hours going over and over this song making sure I was comfortable with the jumps and staying on pitch and not sounding too strained.

My family are all doing well and so am I, Jimmy! I hope the same for you over there in Hamburg!

I'm so very pleased that you like this cover! And I'm especially pleased that you like the guitar solo. Aside from all the time I put in practicing the vocals, the next thing I worked hardest on was that solo. I spent over 4 hours messing around with it -- flat pick, my fingers, different guitars, take after take -- before I got it down. When I was done that evening, I was pretty frustrated, thinking, "I'm never going to get this right!"

But fortunately, the next morning I went back up there and I was so relieved to find that what I had recorded at the end of the day before worked just fine. And then I felt so much better about the whole song!

I listened very closely to the original piano solo over and over again because I liked the simplicity of what the piano player did. And I did try to do a similar thing on the guitar. Not exactly the same notes, but playing the solo off the chords of the song. And if you watch the video where the solo is played, you can see that in most cases I am literally playing the chords of the song and finding notes to play off those chords. It was a fun exercise!
