The Wreck of the Old 97
This is an old story about a disastrous train race for a US Mail contract in 1903. Railroad companies use to hold races to compete for various transportation contracts, and this engineer got a little too aggressive it seems.
If you don't know the song, you may recognize the melody (well, I don't carry a tune so well) as the Kingston Trio's "Charlie on the MTA".
