I got mine for a really good price so I genuinely can't complain about the lack of 'weave' showing on the neck.
Mine looks like this:

I'd be curious what happened there, if they painted some necks but not others.

Default Smokey SMH

I have the Smokey SMH. It’s a 12 fret, deep body cutaway. Once I put on decent strings I really began to enjoy this model.

I've got a Shorty SG (essentially identical to the current CH-OM model) that I've had about two years now. It's become my go-to for lots of things, and what I appreciate is its consistency. I'm still playing around with different strings, and would be interested in others' experiences. For one thing, I tend to prefer medium strings, but I know RS recommends lights...

I traded up from the P-12 to the CO-W1005NST. Fantastic guitar with amazing clarity and a strong (but not boomy) low end. Lot of bang for the buck when you compare this guitar against higher end guitars that cost 2x-3x more (see my sig) and no worries on heat (hot car) and humidity.

The only think I am going to change on it is to install a set of Gotoh 510 tuners strictly for aesthetics. The stock Gotoh’s look kind of chunky.

I have one of the hybrid series dreads. Can't remember the model but I think it had 1100 in it. This one had no electronics and I added my choice. Great sounding and playing guitar!!

do you want to sell it?

Based on another thread here I put the LJ’s choice on, and wow, just wow. Might not last as long as my go to Elixirs but I think I have found my favorite for this guitar, thanks to this forum.

The CO-W1005NST is the guitar that changed my thinking about CF guitars. As a high-end wooden guitar owner and lover who was looking to replicate that sound I'd tried several models from every brand of CF guitar out there and nothing satisfied. Then I had a chance to play an 1005 and wow, the tone I've been searching for was all there. I'm definitely ordering one and my only question is which electronics package will I get, Fishman, anthem of K&K. Any thoughts?

I recently got a CH-PA w/out electronics. I love everything about it - the looks (totally blacked out except the name on the headstock, and the CF weave texture on the back and sides is super cool), the size, the playability, the durability, and even the sound. I keep it handy and on a stand by the couch so it gets lots of attention. I plan to take it with me whenever I go out of town, like when my wife and I go camping. I have other guitars that I like or love for their own attributes, but my CF parlor is in my top two favorites. And, oh yeah, it’s got sharks on the fretboard! How cool is that?

Thanks. Next time I order strings, I'll give those a try. I'm actually using my first set of Martin strings in quite a while (Martin SP PB mediums) on my Emerald X7 right now, and have to say they are great, but I think a bit bright at first. From what I've heard, the monels are a little more subdued, which should suit the inherent brightness of the Shorty well.

Right now it has a set of D'Addario Nickel bronzes (which DO look pretty neat on the black CF), and although they've been on there for months, they still sound live.
