Yes, it does. Thanks Bern.

P.S. with songs like this, it also helps to eat a lot of burnt food to give yourself a bluesy voice

Here is another one,
'You have to suffer if you want to sing the blues'

I think that statement is true, but not for singing the blues necessarily. But for writing the blues, oh yeah, no doubt!

Here is a song I wrote when my Grand Daughter was born. Her name is Kaylah. Sorry about the string buzz, but my fingers are killing.

This is really cool. I dig your voice.....it reminds me of someone, but I can't really suss who it is. Either way, Kaylah should be very proud to have this

I'll use the program. It's nice, and I hate when stuff streams...anyway. I'll put up three songs (alot I know, but I'd love to get feedback)

Recorded with Audacity. Guitar recorded: plugged directly into the laptop recording outlet, with my 310CE. Vocals: sung right into the laptop mic.
"Your Opinion" - Written and recorded in about 2 hours. I'm off on a couple notes but I only sang it once for recording.

Recorded "live" with the laptop mic.
"Gently" - The first song me and my wife wrote together. She wrote the lyrics, I wrote the melody and guitar part. tuned to EADGCE for nice open chords in the key of C

"The Summer Family" - Written together, its changed a bit since this was recorded.

This is all preproduction so I can get a feel for where I want to take the songs. Rough cuts to turn into diamonds. Any feedback is warmly appreciated

Fishing,

Your stuff reminds me of another band, I can't remember who....but I'm thinking it's XTC?

Either way, all three have promise, but it's hard to tell especially with the last 2 as the recording's rough. Keep polishing the gems though

Michael,

I like your songs too. The only possible problem I'm seeing is that the vocals seem really dry. You have a good voice and good "grit" for lack of a better word, but it seems almost naked in these recordings.
