Default Off to the finisher

Here are a couple last pictures of the guitar before I sent it off to the finisher.
We can expect that "Tree" figure to really come out once the finish is on!

Thank you for viewing!

You are truly an artisan. I don't normally comment on build threads, but I salute you, sir! (I am a visual artist with works in collections around the world.)
That is one special creation! (and that Tree wood I would love to hear one.)

Thank you,

A guitar is as much as you put into it. From my perspective as a builder tone and playability are the first to master. There is also the ability to fit the guitar to my client's needs and desires. Then there is the aesthetic of color, shape, and form. What I am currently working to achieve is to step beyond adornment. I feel this is an additional path for a personal connection between my client and my work. These are custom guitars after all!

Default All strung up!

I received the guitar back from the finisher and now have it all strung up.
I will hold onto it for two weeks while it sorts out it's new identity as a guitar and it will be ready to ship. I love how that "tree" mahogany comes to such life when the finish is applied. The guitar already sounds and plays wonderfully!

Thanks you to those of you that have been following along on this build!

Another outstanding "Tree" build mark. You have a great talent bringing out the best of it.

Wowser, that is stunning. What a memorial/tribute guitar this will be. I will go out on a limb and venture to say that a few tears may be shed when this guitar is first seen in person by the family.

Well done, Mark!!!

Beautiful Mark! I can attest to the beauty of "The Tree". Like how you used black/white strings, it compliments the light and dark colour palette of the build

Thank you!

Glad you noticed the black and silver strings. It is a happy coincidence that they go so well with the color palette. I've experimented and find these D'Adario Pro Arte hard tension silver/black to be my favorite for both sound and playability, at least for mahogany, Koa, walnut backed guitars.

Thanks Jon,

I find the "Tree" wood I've worked with to be a very hard mahogany, more like the Cuban Mahogany I've worked with and the Swiss Spruce top I selected is on the lower density side of the scale, as Swiss goes. The guitar's trebles come through loud and clear and keep up nicely with the bass. Good balance. What I especially like with these strings and model is the sweetness of tone when barre cording on up the neck. This to me is the stand out allure of a good nylon string guitar over any steel string.

Hey Quentin Thanks!

The tail is 4 1/4" thick. The lower bout is just under 15" at 14 7/8"
