Alright, I guess I'll throw in my contribution. I'm sorry for the static; recorded with a cell phone but I don't have any professional recording equipment.
I don't many songs from the decade, but this is one of my favorite: the country ballad "Saginaw, Michigan" by Lefty Frizzell (1964). Again, disclaimers: I'm not a professional and I'm not all that great of a singer either. Oh well. It was kind of fun to do. https://soundcloud.com/bagpipesandbe...ginaw-michigan

Not bad, Lynn! Great old song.
Jim Ringer was a friend of Lefty's & told me this story ages ago about how the town of Saginaw flew Lefty into town as its guest of honor for some event. He got out at the airport after dropping into town and asked "Where's the Bay?" (Saginaw Bay playing into the song as seemingly part of the town) Imagine his songwriter's surprise when they told him Saginaw Bay wasn't in Saginaw, but about 10 miles to the North! (he'd never been there previously) |

From 1968, one of my favorite albums by one of my favorite bands is "In Search Of The Lost Chord" by the Moody Blues.
Here is my cover of two songs from this album: "The Actor" https://soundcloud.com/wbendler/mood.../warrens-music "The Best Way to Travel" played on my Alvarez 12 string. https://soundcloud.com/wbendler/mood.../warrens-music

Very well done, Warren! The Moody Blues are my favorite band from the 60s and 70s so, I especially appreciate what it takes to do their music with a solo guitar and voice!! Thanks for sharing those!

I love 60s music and was hoping that more folks would post. So, just to help keep this going, here is our rendition of Shocking Blue's hit "Venus" The song was released on an album in 1969 but didn't become a hit in the USA until 1970 so, I think it is "technically" from the 60s.

While we are waiting for folks to come back from their long weekend vacations and post, here is a live recording of my friend, Julie and I singing the Beatles song, "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away."

Bob & Warren:
Great renditions!! Wonderful contributions by both of you. As Warren said, while we're waiting... I mentioned the formative groups of CSNY (Buffalo Springfield, Byrds & Hollies) being the groups I teethed on, as I made my first contribution here with a Hollies song, so here's one by Buffalo Springfield. Go and Say Goodbye This is all me multitracked. |

Beatles! Each year I get together with 3 friends to play another friend's benefit show.
That's me on the left.

Greetings from Florida and happy 4th! Here is a 60's song I just recorded yesterday for my contribution to the thread. My wife loves this folk song that Gram wrote about his mother who passed away. Brass Buttons
