Yes, I have this mixer. Works well, effects are good and I run it with a battery. I wish it had a EQ for the mid-frequency on each channel. However I do use the graphic EQ which covers the main output, and this is very helpful.
I don’t have this speaker. Currently use it with a Bose S1 Pro. The Bose has two channel inputs. I run the left channel from the mixer out of the left main output to one input on the Bose and the right to the other. Works well this way. I also tried the small Yamaha but I prefer the Mackie with the graphic EQ. I didn’t notice if one was more quiet than the other. Both Seem to have good mic preamps. If there is any questions I can help, just ask. |

Thanks for the info, Marty. I was just checking out the small Yamaha on the soundpro site. the Mackie caught my interest first but I knew nothing about them. I have a DBX Go Rack that I bought a few years ago and have never used. I suppose I should try that first. I bought it three years ago for my Eon one but that seems to work fine without an external mixer.

I purchased a DBX GoRack a few years back. I took it back. I wish I would have kept it. I think it was/is probably a great tool.

I'd advise you to move up to at least the FX8, even though this is just for you, having more inputs available might come in handy one day if you decide to have another person play with you. Also, moving up gets you a mid-EQ knob.
Looks like Mackie is just releasing a V3 edition, too.

Small Yamaha Mg-06X and Mg-10XU have a $20 adapter you can purchase so you can attach them to a mic stand. Mg-10XU is my go to mixer now because of that feature.

The Mackie ProFX v3 mixers, available since Nov 2019 I think, have the praised onyx pre-amps.
If you compare the ProFX6v3 to the ProFX4v2 (which it replaces?!?) they have removed the parametric EQ on the master as well as replaced the adjustable effects send on the 2 main input channels with just an on-off button. I am myself very tempted on getting the ProFX10v3. One big benefit with that mixer (as well as the 6v3) is that it's powered by 12V DC, meaning that you should be able to run it from a 12 V battery pack. Compared to the ProFX6v3, the ProFX10v3 also has a compressor on the 2 main mono channels. |
