[SOLD] Carvin AG300 Acoustic Amp (Mint)
SOLD
Up for sale is my 2016 Carvin AG300 acoustic guitar amp with cover in mint condition (the stand is not included). It has less than 100 hours on it, and most of that was inside a smoke-free house. The only reason that I'm selling it is that my back and shoulder no longer want to carry a 30 lb amp and hoist it onto a pole mount stand. $435 firm, shipped to Lower 48 (PP fee-free payment) This is a really well made, excellent sounding 3-channel solid state amp with built-in 3-band EQ on 2 of the channels (2-band on the third channel), and built-in reverb, echo and chorus effects. It is designed for acoustic guitars and vocals, and can handle a bass guitar easily as well. Can be pole mounted and can be hooked up to an extension speaker, so it's more like a PA. Carvin is no longer making these amps and they are really hard to find used. They are really well respected by AGF members. Apologies for the photos (the amp is perfectly rectangular). Specs (from Carvin’s web site): - OUTPUT POWER: 8 Ohms: 200w, 4 Ohms: 250w - FREQUENCY RESPONSE: +/- 1 dB 20 Hz - 20 kHz amplifier section - FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 55 Hz - 18 kHz speaker section - Low Freq Driver: 12-inch driver - Mid Freq Driver: 6.5-inch driver - High Freq Driver: Titanium 1" horn driver - Internal total speaker impedance: 8 ohm 300Watts - OUTPUT MODE: 94% efficiency CLASS D technology - POWER SUPPLY: high frequency switching - INPUT IMPEDANCE: CH1 & CH2: >100K ohms or >500K ohms (switched) - PHANTOM POWER: +48V (Ch. 1 & 2) - GAIN SWITCH: +10 dB - accommodates all pickups (Ch. 1 & 2) - LO & HI TONE CONTROLS: +/-12 dB at 70 Hz & +/-12 dB at 8.5kHz - MID Parametric: +/- 15 dB sweepable 100 to 2kHz - AMP LIMITER: built-in to the help prevent clipping - DIRECT OUT: adjustable OFF to +4dBu, DC isolated XLR bal output, 100ohm ground lifted - EFFECTS LOOP: -10dBV, buffered - FS22 FOOTSWITCH: EFF 1 & EFF 2 on/off - PROTECTION: speakers, over current, under voltage, thermal - AC VOLTAGE: 90-250V, 50-60 Hz - Power Requirements: 100VA - CIRCUIT BOARDS are MIL SPEC, double sided, FR-4 glass epoxy - DIMENSIONS: 18.5" high x 12" deep x 17" wide (470 x 305 x 432mm) - NET WEIGHT: 30.5 lbs. net (11.4 kgs) - MADE IN THE USA

That's for sure. If it wasn't for my aging back and joints, this one wouldn't be up for sale either...

Did Carvin ever make a matching extension speaker cab?

They did. It was the 300AGE. https://carvinaudio.com/pages/archiv...ension-cabinet
I was told that you don't need to use that particular extension speaker, since any speaker with matching specs will work with the amp.

Yes, but you can use about any passive cabinet as an extension. I have a cheap no-name 3-way passive speaker cabinet I use with mine.

I've used mine for bass, acoustic guitar, uke, mandolin and vocals. It's the only acoustic guitar amp I've used that was a good vocal amp. Bass in an acoustic group is fine. The cab was a bass amp. Well thought out.

I have also used mine with an electric guitar (playing through a Tech 21 SansAmp Para Driver DI). And I agree that it's a really good vocal amp.
