Default Bluetooth stereo receivers....

I have a 20 year old Sony 100 watt stereo receiver. Now I listen to Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Pandora on my Bluetooth JBL speaker from my iPad or phone. Anyone have a Bluetooth Stereo receiver? Thoughts? Would love to listen through my Cerwin Vega speaker system. I guess I’m looking for a WiFi receiver for these streaming services.

Over the weekend I just got a Spark Amp from Positive Grid. It's an amazing practice amp and if you're not familiar with its features, check out the video. It's heavy on features for electric guitar but also has features for acoustic as well. But it is also a Bluetooth speaker and it sounds great.

He doesn't want a Bluetooth speaker though. He wants to use his stereo and wants a Bluetooth receiver.

To the TS... I got one off Amazon for about $25 or so like a year ago and it works pretty well. They don't sell it now though. Just read reviews after using Fakespot on Amazon. There should be some decent ones still.

Here’s the receiver that I bought toward the end of 2018:

Onkyo TX-8140

It’s connected to four speakers in the backyard. It’s very easy to use with an iPhone with Spotify.

Here’s what I bought to connect to an older NAD receiver without Bluetooth in order to use Bluetooth and my iPhone with Spotify:

Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter for Bluetooth Streaming
980-000910

It’s $29.99 on Amazon. It works very well with eight speakers indoors.

Also have this Denon receiver connected to a 5.2 channel surround sound system with the television:

Denon AVR-S540BT

It has Bluetooth too.

I bought this last December through Amazon, and am very satisfied with the value, quality, and performance.

Marantz NR1200 AV Receiver (2019 Model) | 2-Channel Home Theater Amp | Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Heos + Alexa | Immersive Movies, Music & Gaming | Auto Low Latency Mode for Xbox One | Smart Home Automation

I can’t get a link to Amazon that doesn’t go to my order details, but here’s one to the receiver on Crutchfield:

https://www.crutchfield.com/S-02jQ6p...EaAlymEALw_wcB

It sounds fantastic with my vintage Marantz Model 7000 speakers, 80’s vintage Technics SL-MC4 60 CD changer, and the new Technics SL 1500C (silver) turntable I got through Crutchfield to go with the new receiver.

If you want to go cheap and get room filling sound, I recommend a "sound bar" type television speaker system. I paid about $150 for a yamaha one at Costco. they really do music very very well. Something like this

You might consider getting a bluetooth receiver and plugging it into your existing Sony. I got one and plugged it into the AUX input of our 1972 console stereo. It's now the worlds heaviest bluetooth speaker.

Though I can't remember exactly what I bought, it was something like this:

The Denon surround receiver I use for my home theater has Bluetooth ability and I use it.

I can confirm that the Bluetooth adapters work very well, and they are a cheap option to try out. I have a couple of them - think the brand I got on Amazon is TaoTronics and it was less than $30. It's nice to be able to use my phone and blast some tunes through my big B&W floor speakers.

Yes, that's exactly what he requested in the OP.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but it helped me with streaming music. Its streaming through wifi. If you already have a receiver and want to stream music, you can go with an older Chromecast Audio. This will allow you to stream from your iphone to receiver via chromecast without having to buy a whole new receiver:

You can add one of these and stream from your streaming device: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_...210504_tuesday

Or many streaming devices, like Apple TV, include Spotify and others. I have a Yamaha receiver that has Spotify and Pandora (maybe others) built in and it's great. I also have Bluetooth control (maybe wifi?) over the whole thing. Hooks up to the wifi no issues and sounds great.
