Last night after I finished playing my new Furch I just sat there looking it over. An amazing looking guitar. I'm taking a bit more time lately appreciating my J-45 also. Although the J-45 has a little bit of finish issues around a couple of tuner posts, its still easy on the eyes to take in.

Aesthetics plays a huge role in appreciating things. Cars get you from one place to another, but some look good to you and some don't. A plain over under 12 gauge pretty much shoots the same as a presentation model. You can appreciate simplicity too. I bought one guitar despite it's looks, my 65 Texan. At the time I thought it's sunburst was hideous.

So look at them all you want, they are visually pleasing.

Default Am I strange? Admiring your guitars after playing them

I may be the worst. I admire this picture of a guitar. I think that is the best sunburst ever. When I finally got to play one it did not bond with my sonic soul, but the visual part of me still wanted it. I managed to make it out without buying.
Here is the kicker...I still leave the magazine out and admire that picture.

I often do.

I think guitars are beautiful pieces of art even when they are not creating it.

Sounds exactly like my playing routine.

I think that's a sign of normalcy, appreciating what you have.

I look at them before, while and after playing. All the time!
