Default Taylor 324 SEB NoPG

Picked up a “new” Taylor 324 SEB NoPG (no pick guard). She’s from a GC limited run. Did some homework and found out that it is a 2018 “new-old stock” model from Taylor and represents a batch that were never sold from their California factory. Welcome to the world of COVID and creative ways to fill the ever present demand for acoustic guitars. Current backlog issues will continue to be a real challenge for the foreseeable future. Interesting times indeed. As for me, I dig the old style 300 series Standard III bracing with relief route versus the new V bracing thing. No worries there. This hog has stunning blackwood B/Ss, body binding, scalloped bracing, ebony full scale fretboard and a 1 3/4 nut. It also comes with a hard shell case and offers no factory installed electronics. I love the ultra thin satin finish. It already has a played-in sound, although the hog top will take time to open up. I picked this bird up for $1,259.00 with discount. At that price point, the 324 sits squarely in the Martin 15 series realm (one of my all time favorites). There’s alot of bang for the buck, especially compared to the competition. Taylor did confirm that these models were not former B stock or blemished models. In fact, I found the fit and finish to be flawless. If you can get over the surplus model back story, the 324 SEB NoPG is worth a test drive. I, for one, am a happy customer.

Welcome and congrats on the new 324. If you enjoy it half as much as I enjoy my 322e 12 fret, you will be very happy for a long time.
