Day seven
Linda and I spent a great day here in Santa Barbara getting grounded before the show. Tomorrow morning we get down to business.
Actually, just did a little business, and the JB-00-P is no longer available. So now there are five. Sale guitars, that is. Interesting that no one has gone for any of the three OMs. I would have thought they would be the first to go! |

SALE!!! Day eight
I'm at breakfast on Saturday morning before going to the second day of SBAIC. Yeterday I got a commitment on the FT-15 Malaysian Blackwood OM, so the sale is down to just four guitars. They are the FT-15 Artifact, the MagCat, the Prototype, and JB-16-P.
To soon to say much about the show itself, but I am enjoying myself, the layout seems very good as there is plants of space and it is easy to get from any one spot to any other. The sound level is, as always, very high. The audition spaces appear useless as they are merely curtained. Management, that's Kevin and perhaps ten helpers, are on a learning curve but have my confidence. |

Glad to hear you found someone for it. Now I won't have to be tempted. I was... sorely. I hope they love it as much as I would have.

Good show for me, and many others I'm sure, though as always, not so good for some. Linda and I will make the drive home today and I hope to write a decent review of our experience after we get home tonight. Putting the success (so far, there's another week till October 8) of the sale aside, business-wise this was my best show in several years. Also, we had a great time hanging out with friends in Santa Barbara. More tomorrow or so.

Hi Bruce, your little spruce/pearwood guitar was one of the highlights for me this weekend. Lovely voice and so easy to play. Thanks for sharing it.

Day 14 of 16
There are just two more days after today to take advantage of the opportunity to acquire my work at bargain prices. The four remaining guitars are well described elsewhere in this thread and in the Marketplace. On Sunday their prices will nearly double. If this were the stock market . . .

Last day of SALE!!!
If you're on the fence about one of the sale guitars, you have about four hours before you miss the chance.

The pleasure was mine, Juston, and I am sincere in the comment. I look forward to more face time with you.
The sale is done, it seems, and exceeded my expectations completely. Thank you to all who contributed their good energy, and especially to those who actually pulled the trigger on six of my guitars. If any of you wonder who they are, they are now listed as owners of record in the right hand most column on thelist. I actually sold a seventh guitar from my inventory list in this same period, but it was not a sale item. That was the final guitar from my gypsy jazz inspired "Coo'stik" series, the seventh I believe, made in 2003 from Sausalito CA grown black acacia and Sitka spruce. I plan to start a new guitar this next week or so. It will be a commissioned piece, my third flamenco, and inspired by the two I showed at SBAIC. This order has been in for quite some time, and has only now been firmed up as to exactly what it will be. More on this soon, of course. |

A third Flamenco in 2016!
I joined the plates today for the guitar I mentioned a few days ago. I am using Movingui and a more upgrade set of the white spruce I used on the two spec flamencos. This should be a sort of wolf in sheep's clothing; it will appear more or less "Blanca", but is made from a wood hard and dense enough to shame many rosewoods.
The light is uneven, so favor the right side, please: There is a lot of flame which I expect you will see better as time passes: Last edited by Bruce Sexauer; 10-15-2016 at 06:59 PM. |

I am moving right along on the 3rd Flamenco of the year. My work may not seem as exciting as the latest new bevel technique or segmented rosette, but I assure you that for those who can see it, there is quite a bit of innovation in my current thinking and execution.
Before SBAIC I was uncertain whether my nylon string concepts were on par with the results I get in steel strings, but I was able to play a number of other contemporary gut boxes there and my confidence in this arena is up as a result. |
