Hmmm, lemme think. Um, no, unless you want a guitar that sucks.

Hi Natdiva,
Fender makes fine electric guitars. Strats and Teles are iconic for good reasons--they are great guitars.

Acoustic? Not so much. I would look elsewhere. There are many better options.

Suggestion: Try one of the Fenders yourself and see if you like it.

I made the mistake of ordering one without trying. I sold it after a week. It's horrible even for that price. The worst sounding guitar I've ever heard. It's my personal opinion though.

to my recollection their has never been any acoustic guitar with the name fender on the top that has ever been worth anything. not joking!
so pass on that !

a few of those surf guitars from the late sixties and early seventies - with the big head ,bolt-on necks were a fad -but even they sucked somewhat -thou they had great mojo

I have a Fender CP-100 parlor guitar that is really nice. I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm sure that there are better guitars out there in the $250 - $300 range. Some brands that I see thrown around in the price range are Seagull and Blue Ridge. The best I've ever played in the price range was a Samick.

I'd look to buy something used if you can.

Not much love for Fender aoustics around here. I have no opinion of them as I've never really played them. Let me be the first to throw the name Yamaha out there: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guita...lectric-guitar

Also Washburn: http://www.zzounds.com/item--WASWD11SCE

That fender is real expensive for an all laminate guitar. Maybe check out some cheaper Yamaha guitars in that price range. Those will at least have a solid wood top, which in the end should give you a better sounding guitar.

It is kind of strange for a company that makes great electric guitars, basses, and amps to put out such a poor product when it comes to acoustic guitars.

Used to have a Fender DG 25S Cedar top and it was a fine guitar. I had it playing like butter. Wish I still had it!

I sold my Fender CD220SCE Exotic Ovangkol Acoustic-Electric and used the money toward my Tanglewood. But I got my Yamaha while I still had my Fender and the Yam has a far more superior sound AND a nice Sitka spruce solid top. The Fender sounded ok plugged in but not too great acoutically.
