Save up and buy a Martin
Sometimes not sounding like a Martin is a good thing.

Cool

Martins now have a more diverse price range and some of their lower end models are by marketing designed to have appeal to lower end buyers.
You can find a lot more guitars that sound like THOSE Martins than you might in the upper end ($2500 +) market.

+1 If you like the sound of a Martin, then you'll just have to buy a Martin. Sigma Guitars used to be manufactured under a Martin blueprint, however, the name is now owned by a German company, and I don't know anything about the new models as far as sound goes.

I have found Recording King to be a decent second choice and Oscar Schmidt or Yamaha would be decent guitars at an affordable price. The lower priced guitars are most often coming from China, but even though they are much more affordable, the majority of my guitars are Martins. Find a store that offers credit and make payments if you have to...you won't be disappointed if you go with a genuine Martin guitar.
