The string spacing on the Yamaha site shows 11mm. Does that mean 11mm x 6 strings? Total of 2.58 in (to make it apples to apples)?

Hence my search for a replacement to this.

The OM-28 MD has been the one on my radar so far, but I hear so much good about the OM-21s I'd really like to try one. And know I could get it for much less.

And Larrivee's have been in the consideration list for a while. I've never played one, but if they tend to have more the Martin sound vs. Taylor, that's good to hear.

And, I've never played a bad Yamaha. I'll have to look into that...

Keep 'em coming.
More recent 17 series have standard X bracing but instead of A but I think that may have come after the 000-17SM.

I can’t claim a wide range of experience in terms of owning or playing different guitars, but I did just get my hands on a CEO-7, just because a good deal came up locally and I had always been curious. I already have a 000-18, and I expected to try out the CEO for a little while then let it go, but now I’m trying to rationalize why should keep both. I’d say the 000 leans a bit more to the low end and the CEO is more balanced. Love the chunkier neck on the ceo.

Check out The Fretted Buffalo on Reverb. They have a couple of Furch's that may ring your bell, specifically a jumbo rainbow series

-Martin or Martin-esque sound (I do not like the Taylor sound). Good bottom end.
-Can do it all. Hard strumming on Fishin’ In The Dark and finger picking Leader Of The Band.
-Primarily played plugged-in so designed with a pickup in mind (like a Taylor or Takamine). I have Baggs Anthem in my Martin D40 and am not pleased with it.
-1 3/4 nut
-2 1/4 bridge spacing
-Toward the meatier side for the neck. I have big hands.
-$1000-$3000 street price (used or new)
-Can buy off the rack / not custom (want it now)

I have my own ideas in mind but want to consider what I may be missing. Thanks!

Drop the numbers as a requirement and go play lots of guitars.

The one you like the most will probably not “measure out” to those calculations.

Lots of people mentioning Martin Standard Series OMs and 000s. None of them (currently) have 2 1/4" spacing at the bridge or what I would call a beefy neck... which were both on the wish list.

Would likely have to dig into older models or things outside of the standard series to meet those requirements.

No doubt Martin HD-35. Thinner bracing = louder, more of everything.
