Default braggin' rights...

The Andina & Rich CD, "Two Guitars, a Dulcimer and an Attitude" is in rotation on folk radio--EVERY one of its 14 songs has gotten airplay (broadcast, satellite, internet), most recently WFMT and XM's "The Midnight Special" and WBBM radio's "Made in Chicago." And we're on the Grammy preliminary ballot in 7 categories.

Just found out yesterday that my new CD is now on iTunes! As of this morning it is #138 on the singer/songwriter album sales chart, which I am totally blown away by...I have never had any of my music on iTunes before, so I wanted to let everyone know that they can check it out here:

This link is for my 2008 CD of original songs "World Of Dreams". A couple of these songs were written over 30 years ago, one was written during the recording sessions.

Default The Real Placebos new CD: Purloined Horsehair

It's finally here! The first CD by The Real Placebos is officially available. "Purloined Horsehair" has been a really fun project and perfect excuse to spend time with the band and record some tunes.

The Real Placebos are accepting all out of state and international bookings with the exception of the state of Montana due in part to an unfortunate 1982 incident involving purloined horsehair. Please don't ask. We don't really like to talk about it.

For those of you that are fans of the AGF CD's (and who isn't), the first two tracks on Purloined Horsehair appeared on AGF CD's 1 & 3 respectively. We were honored to be included!

For more info and sample tunes please visit our website www.therealplacebos.com

Become a friend of the band on Facebook for even more fun...

I've had some solo acoustic pieces and some electronica here for a while now.
http://www.soundclick.com/darshelton free mp3's , no cd .
some of the guitar tracks have sound fx generated from the original acoustic track, and any track w/ guitar has only guitar on it. nice guitar, average playing.

all the electronic ones are done with Arp X-8 arpeggiator software and a Korg rack synth . no , I'm not a keyboardist; it's all smoke and mirrors.

Arrow Imagining Dancers - Chuck Cheesman

Here's another for the AGF pile... My latest album arrives Feb. 15th.

Six of the tunes from Imagining Dancers can now be heard using the player at the top of my singer/songwriter website. There are nine original songs and a cover of Michael Smith's "The Dutchman" - a tune made famous by the late Steve Goodman.

The CD was produced by my good friend Larry Clyman, best known around these parts for his Bruce Sexauer related guitar threads. If it's electric guitar you're hearing on my CD, he played it, and he also plays a simple but perfect acoustic lead on my song "One Silver Hair".. In fact, he is the best guitarist I know! And I know a lot of guitar players...

Please give it a listen and let me know what you think. I love to hear from AGF members!

I've just released a CD album of fingerstyle guitar solos. Most of the album is made up of self-composed contemporary pieces. There is also a set of Irish Polkas and my arrangement of Nina Simone's Feeling Good, Jeff Beck's 'Cause We've Ended As Lovers and Firedance which is from the Riverdance show by Bill Whelan.

There are audio samples on my website if anyone wants a listen.

Mickey,
I was interested in your cd version of Beck's Cause We've... since I have recorded that tune in an electric version years ago. I saw J. Beck last week an interestingly enough was inspired to work on an acoustic version myself on my Lowden! Much tougher tho! However I thought you did a beautiful and remarkable job. (My take is much slower and incomplete as of yet, I have much woodshed to do!) Well your playing & tone is lovely so all the best, you've done a marvelous job my Lowden alumn!
I'm going to see Kenny Chesney tonite, I wonder what kind of inspiration I'll get from that!

Thanks a lot guys for the comments. Funny, I was inspired to arrange the Jeff Beck tune after seeing him live as well.

It's not possible to buy my last project's EP (at least, not to my knowledge haha) but if anyone is interested in hearing it, just visit http://www.youtube.com/majesticmindmusic. It's a bit of a hard rock, metal and alternative project. We had 2 female vocalists, and 1 male. Hope yall dig it!
