Michael,

With you playing, it doesn't matter what woods are used. Whatever guitar it is will sound wonderful.

I hope to try a Wingert one of these days.

Zombie thread....

I never did a build thread on this but thought I'd share a couple of pics of the finished product. Michael Bashkin and I wanted to use the sapwood but upon closer inspection, he found some instability so we decided to go without it.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this guitar the last couple of years.

Well that's an incredible looking guitar with a gorgeous back. Well done on the coco. The rosette and butt inlay are also tastefully done.

Congrats, Ernie! I look forward to hearing more stellar recordings of yours -- this time featuring a fancy custom guitar!

Very Nice, the back and sides are gorgeous but what is that top? Outstanding color, medullary rays & no runout.

A very, very beautiful guitar. Mike Bashkin has a great aesthetic sense. He made the most out of that beautiful coco set.

Thanks very much guys.

Clinchriver, that is a euro spruce set I also purchased and sent to Michael a few years back. I remember him saying that the coco and the euro spruce were both exceptional sets. I used to enjoy shopping around for tonewood and commissioning customs. I have one set of redwood left but am no longer interested in adding to the stable.

This is a gorgeous guitar. I've played and photographed several Bashkins and they all sound as good as they look. Congrats!

Very nice looking Guitar! The Bashkin guitars that I played in Memphis were all stellar sounding and finely crafted instruments! Thank you for sharing.

Mau,
If I remember correctly, I used this guitar in the song I have in show and tell right now. I really do need to take better notes because I tend to forget which guitar I used in what song. I am 90% certain that I used the Bashkin in Operator.

Thanks and you're welcome Doug. How many builds do you have cooking, right now?
