Which guitar have you owned the longest?

My oldest is the Goodall which I have had for 12 years. In the past, I have hung on to things for a long while. But as I have a build coming, I am thinking what to move to make space for it.

My longest owned guitar is an S101 Cut Away all solid wood Dread that I bought in 2012 during trip to the Far East on whim, and hand carried in the plane all the way home.

It has sat for 5 years in the lounge corner, then picked up and played for the first time since I bought it, when I returned to guitar practicing this Sept.

Mine is an Ibanez Artist 2609 acoustic from 1976 and it will stay with me forever, well untill I die I guess.

My first decent guitar. A La Patrie dreadnought from 1993 or so. I can’t say it’s much of a guitar. The scarf joint on the peghead had to be re-glued twice. The stacked heel came apart twice. And now the top is coming off around 1/4 of the lower bout. So it has been relegated to beater status and is more or less considered a piece of junk. Would have been beaten by my Squier Strat if my college buddy didn’t lose it.

Seagull S6 original. It’s a 97 or 98.
Technically, I still own it (or am the official caretaker if you’d like) but it’s become the family “beginner”.
It’s made it’s way through various combinations of brothers, cousins and or nieces/nephews. I don’t play it very often anymore, or for longer than a few minutes when I do but it sounds very sweet still.
The 20 year old cedar top has plenty of “character” for sure.

A guitar from an unknown maker named Lloyd that was hanging in McCabes a few decades ago. The only guitar I ever bought new. He built maybe 35 guitars total.

My Wingert 00 is the one I have owned the longest. I purchased it used in 2003. It was made in 2001.
Before that the guitar that I owned the longest was a 1991 Martin M-38 that I bought new. To get that guitar, I traded in a Yamaha that I had owned for nearly 20 years.

My Martin D18 12-String I purchased for my birthday in March of 1980. Strictly speaking, I suppose it would be that one.

However, the Guild F-20 that I now have in my possession was purchased by my father before my birth; I used it as a kid when I was learning to play and inherited it "full time" after his death six years ago. I think he bought it around 1957 or '58. (The serial number on it tells its age: It was made in '56.) It was new when he purchased it for $85 ..... full retail price, back then.

EDIT TO ADD: All of the guitars in my signature were purchased brand new; so you can see about how long I've owned them. Some of them I've listed the year I purchased as the year it was made because in the case of the Squire and the Mex Strat, I don't know the actual date of manufacture, but I assume close to when I purchased them.

A Gibson L6S (electric) I bought new in 1976. On the acoustic front a 1986 Martin HD-28 Brazil.

That would be my 1974 Gibson ES-345, which I bought very slightly used in 1975... 42 years and counting!

Acoustic-wise, that would be my Mark Angus #35 F-40, which Mark built for me in 1979...
