Default Need Replacement Pickup for Gibson EC-30

My buddy has a Gibson EC-30 cutaway with a factory trap-door pickup. This electronic pickup came with both XLR and 1/4" inputs on the bottom of the guitar. It needs to be replaced (or fixed) and his guitar tech ain't the guy to do it. Does anybody know if a new one of these can be purchased somewhere? So far, Gibson won't respond to his emails or messages. I told him I'd post here and ask the real experts!

gibson is goin out of buisness.
I would think one could certainly replace
the pickup with anything on the mkt today.
does the xlr out on the guitar actually provide
the impedance matching required to plug it directly
to a mixing board??
is the barn door a fishman Prefix? If so they
can be bought on ebay, and the xlr out is probably
an after market modification . Which might be the problem
with the pickup. One could try disconnecting the xlr portion
and see if the pickup works??
Perhaps it's time your friend finds a new tech..

If this guitar so old that the particular barn-door is not in production (check eBay to see what is available), then a competent electronics tech can see if something obvious is wrong (loose or tarnished connection). The next step is replacement with something in production by Baggs or Fishman that is a good size match to the original. It seems both those companies price their barn-door options pretty high compared to the up charge on a new guitar.
