How can I tighten XLR lock nut on Shure GLX-D wireless unit?
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I’m not sure where to put it. It’s not about amplification, and not build/repair on an instrument, LOL.
Wondering if someone can help me? The lock nut on my Shure GLX-D wireless body pack has come loose, and I don’t have a tool to tighten it properly (without damaging it). Does anyone know of a way to tighten this nut? Not sure how to explain it, but it's just a threaded ring that has two notches exactly opposite of each other.

Looks like you need a spanner wrench. You may be able to use internal locking ring pliers.

What DS said. You can buy a spanner wrench at any major tool shop.

To close the loop on this thread, I’d like to share my solution/results. I believe that Taylor uses a similar nut to mount their ES pots/knobs so hopefully this helps someone.
I found this video: Then it took me about 5 minutes to make it, just used a hacksaw cut the notches out and a file get rid of the material on the sides: I’m keeping the copper tool in my gig bag in case it ever gets loose again, but I also made a simpler tool from a washer. Pretty straightforward, I found a washer that fit the locknut, cut it in half with some tin snips, then used a round file (in a dremmel tool) to widen the inner circle to fit the arc of the XLR jack threading. Thanks everyone for the help!
