Default Talking Guitar: Tom Sands Guitars

Since completing his apprenticeship and setting up his own workshop in his hometown of Ripon, North Yorkshire last year, it is fair to say that Tom Sands has not stopped, with a staggering two-year waiting list already. Combining his own stunning build designs with the traditional Somogyi-style body shapes, and his much talked about copper-infused rosettes, Tom Sands is most definitely the one to watch.

Last week we had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Tom for our latest Talking Guitar episode, a truly wonderful young luthier with a true passion for his craft, his customers and of course making his mark in the guitar community. We took some time to chat about his rocket-like rise to fame in the luthier world, how he got started in guitar building, his apprenticeship with the one and only Ervin Somogyi, the social media antics of 'The Week This Week', Jen Ritter, his new line (the S, M & L) and of course musical aficionado and endorsed artist Will McNicol. We hope you enjoy the interview:

We are very excited to announce that we have just confirmed an additional build slot for Tom Sands Guitars via The North American Guitar, which will commence in 2019.

Tom Sands Bespoke Build Slot for 2019
Secure today with a 35% deposit of £2,604 inc. VAT
(Based on the starting price of £7,440 inc. VAT for a Tom Sands guitar).

For more information on Tom Sands Guitars and for future orders please do not hesitate to contact us via email or call +44 (0) 207 835 5597.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Ben

Very cool, thanks for posting this. I wish NAG was local to me, what a “kid in the candy store” experience each visit would be!

10 months on from getting mine, GAS is stone dead.
Haven't thought about getting another steel-string, not even for a nanosecond. Indeed, I've moved some others on. The Sands is all I need.

Everytime I get mine out I'm astonished all over again how good it sounds.

Honeymoon is over; it's happily married life now.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve...you are not the first person to say this! Tom is such a humble and incredibly talented guy. Super proud to have him on the TNAG roster. You must come to our Tom Sands Event on 6th December. I will ping you an email nearer the time. Have a great day mate. Ben
