Hi folks,

did anyone hear something about Jasons life after building guitars?
Just for reminding his wonderful guitars a little tune picked up with his wonderful No. 10.

Hoping he will be building sometime again.

Last I heard, Jason had started a videography business. I own one of Jason’s guitars, and it is a lifetime keeper. I was sorry to hear that he had stopped building.

thank you for that information,

so to keep it as a lifetime-guitar would make sense. I still can't imagine a reason for that change in such a high quality segment, but that's life.

all the best

I can only imagine that making a consistent living building higher end acoustic guitars is a challenge these days as there are so many choices of builders, not to mention the really nice mid and upper level factory guitars from Martin, Gibson, PRS, etc. One look at the classifieds here on the AGF will tell you that the market is soft with sellers dropping their prices in an effort to sell and move a particular piece.

Unless someone has a very consistent backlog of guitars on order for years at a time, it seems like a tough way to make a living. Just my $.02 from the peanut gallery. Jason was building some really fine acoustic guitars. I hope his new career is working out well for him.

He is starting back up with 2-3 build slots for 2021. It's on his Simpson Guitars' Facebook page
