Default Gibson J-50 (‘59 Neck Profile and Baked Top)

This is a Custom Shop Limited Edition ‘59 J-50. It has a torrified (baked) Sitka Spruce top and has what Gibson calls a ‘59 neck profile. It is effectively the same as the “J-45 Vintage” models made by Gibson the last few years, but with a natural baked Sitka top and a batwing pick guard. It is possible it is adi spruce on top...really hard to tell. But for purposes of this post let’s call it Sitka.

Sound clip here: https://soundcloud.com/user-905413939/j-50-open-tun

Sold, pending payment and approval.

Specs below. It is a beauty!!!!

Thanks!

These guitars are insanely good. I can’t believe this deal. Should move quick, especially coming from you.

(Nid knows his Gibsons and we have traded before... fantastic to deal with).

Thanks Sal!

Here’s a sound clip. Sloppy heavy handed playing, but should give you an idea of the open, dry sound.

Were you still in search of a Guild Orpheum? I was going to be selling my very fine 2014 Orpheum 12 fret in order to bring in a new J-185 Vintage if there are no used 185's showing up in my search. And $1900 should be an attractive price for an example of when Ren Ferguson put his best effort into showing Guild what he could do when he went to Guild New Hartford:

Not anymore, though that is a wonderful guitar. I’m trying to fund a pretty expensive one.
Those Orpheums are great.

A little chunkier. Full c. Not a baseball bat like a legend, but fuller than a standard, and even more full than the new “vintage” models.

Still available. That answers some of the pm’s I got. It is an old listing date, because I listed it once for a couple of days to purchase a potential July vacation purchase, and then unlisted it upon returning home, realizing that the J-50 was a superior guitar to the one I was thinking about. But I have a Fairbanks slope hog coming in today, so this great Gibson should go to someone else.

Also, if you pm’d me and did not get a reply, your mailbox is full.

Thanks.
