Explain the price of this guitar
Can any members find a logical reason why this instrument is listed this at $1,250? I own the same model, and had believed it was worth between $250 and $350.
Guitar in question: https://reverb.com/item/15069044-man...rc=aw.ds&pla=1 Thanks in advance.

The logical reason is that the seller of this guitar on Reverb is a crook. Plenty of them, also on E Bay.

Thanks! That makes the most sense. Wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something if I decide to sell.

I wouldn't say they're a crook. Most likely just misinformed. If you look at the nearly 40 other listings they have up, the prices are ore or less correct on them. They're just way way off on this one.

This listed price could be a mistake-
in knowing the real value of this guitar, a typo, a mix up of identity, or of multiple listings or somebody paid list price when they bought it. I think a lot of Reverb prices are on the high side, though. Uninformed sellers or intentionally listed high to allow for negotiation? Last edited by Paddy1951; 01-28-2019 at 12:13 AM. |

Misinformed or a typo.

Probably looked it up wrong when setting their pricing.
Sometimes that works in your favor. I bought my 1973 Guild F-212 for a song on E-bay because it was priced like a GAD (Chinese) instead of a US Guild.

I think we took care of this in your other post.

The seller might have looked at one post that might have been for a different model before he priced this one. |

Facebook marketplace is worse. Lots of way-overpriced gear.

It's simple, you're free to price whatever you have to sell at any price you want. Want $10k out of your Esteban, then price that sucker at $10k. You're not going to sell it, but you have the right to price it for as much or as little as you want.

My guess is that it’s a typo. He probably meant to type $250 and fat fingered the 1 in there by mistke

Thanks all.
That post was deleted -- apologies for the double post -- I was looking for more opinions so I created this post.

Old joke, no time to write it all out, punchline is
"Yeah, but I only have to sell one."

you would have to ask the person selling as they are responsible for making that decision. you can find thousands of similar situations on ebay, reverb and even here. sometimes, tho, i think that people, after the fact, realize that they paid way too much and are attempting to get it back. sorry, please educate yourself first.
play music!
