Default Powered Studio Monitors

I'm in the market for a pair of powered speakers to use with a keyboard, pc and a turntable.
I keep thinking a pair of QSC CP8's. But, that's kind of pricey. I'd like to stay in the $500 range for 2. I also like the sound of most >50w Klipsch speakers.

Any suggestions on $500 powered speakers?

Powered speakers and powered studio monitors are two different animals...

Sounds to me like you would want powered speakers (like the CP8) for use with the keyboard.

I've had excellent luck and results with the Alto speakers - great value and sound, and built well too.

You would be well under your budget with the TX308 and TX310, and right around it with the TS series.

Check Reverb for deals...they are there!

Thanks, I'll check out Alto speakers. I've never seen them in person.

Looking into the Klipsch's some more I found that their highly popular 120w R51PM's are being replaced by a R50PM model. Many places are blowing out the R51PM's for $300, while the new R50PM's are running $500-550. The only difference seems to a slightly lower Frequency response rating.

I think a similar evolution is going on with Klipsch powered subs and their 400w R12SW powered sub is going for $220.

I think a pair of 120w 5.25" R51PM's and a 400w 12" R12SW sub for $520 total would probably be a great all Klipsch setup for indoor piano, pc and turntable use.

Check out Cruthchfield "open box" deals. I have a pair of Klipsch R50-PM and a R10SWi sub that I purchased that way.
