Default "Camrys" - an original song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfXj7-EkPow

I wrote this song after Zane Williams said something before playing his song "87 Chevy 4x4". What he said was "nobody writes songs about a Camry". I took that as a challenge!

As I sat there (still listening to Zane play) writing the first line in the chorus, I had included the words "Chevy 4x4" and I thought it might be interesting to get several song titles from other friends of mine in there, too. Here are the titles that made it in there (some slightly modified):

'87 Chevy 4x4 - Zane Williams
Country Squire - Thom Shepherd
What the Heart Wants - Kylie Rae Harris
Big Ol' Heartache - Kylie Rae Harris
Don't Let the Walls Fall yet - Kylie Rae Harris

I think it turned out quite well! Here's the lyrics:

"Camrys"

You dream of those old muscle cars / Hot rod engines and semi slicks
But when some rain comes along / You just might wind up in the ditch
Or maybe a big ol’ pickup truck / Jacked halfway up to the clouds
But if you swerve too quick / You might find yourself upside down
What you need ain’t always what you want / And I ain’t just talkin’ ‘bout cars
Why don’t you look somewhere else / Besides these ol’ honkey tonks and bars?

No one writes songs about Camrys / They’re ‘bout sports cars or Chevy 4x4s
You only listen to what the heart wants / Boy, you’ve been here before
No one writes songs about Camrys / Though they did about a Country Squire
This one’s a big ol’ heartache / But for a while she’ll quench your desire
No one writes songs about Camrys / Though maybe they really ought to
Don’t let your walls fall yet / Is this the best you think you can do?

You think this is the life that you want / Maybe you think it’s all you deserve
But what do you really need / When life sends storms and throws you some curves?
You’ve been speeding through this life / Hell-bent on gettin’ nowhere fast
Is there something that you’re missin’? / Do you feel you’re always comin’ in last?
Just like those cars that you love / They’re designed for all the wrong things
You need to be steady and faithful / Show some love and stability

No one writes songs about Camrys / They’re ‘bout sports cars or Chevy 4x4s
You only listen to what the heart wants / Boy, you’ve been here before
No one writes songs about Camrys / Though they did about a Country Squire
This one’s a big ol’ heartache / But for a while she’ll quench your desire
No one writes songs about Camrys / Though maybe they really ought to
Don’t let your walls fall yet / Is this the best you think you can do?

No one writes songs about Camrys / Though maybe they really ought to
No one writes songs about Camrys / But I’ve written this one to you
Yeah, I’ve written this one to you
