Default Crying - Roy Orbison cover

I came across this recording when I was uploading another song today. I had forgotten it was on Vimeo. It’s from a couple years ago.
I’m not sure whether I posted it here when I first recorded it or not. Anyway, I apologize if this is redundant, but thought I’d give it a go tonight.

As a side note, Roy Orbison was one of my all time favorite performers. Some time back someone produced a “virtual Roy Orbison” tour. It hit major cities across the country. It featured a live band and a HOLOGRAM of dear ol Roy singing many of his hits. I gotta say it was VERY creepy. You just can’t unsee something like that. Kinda wish I’d skipped that one.

Fantastic Roger! Love that song and really admire Roy O.

If you don't know it, Raul Malo of Mavericks fame covers that song and gives Roy a run for his money, as you did. I know you will enjoy it.

Thanks folks for the generous comments. Sure is fun doing some of these great old classic tunes.

Started with 1... I listened to Raul Malo as you suggested. Holy smokes, he’s the real deal isn’t he? Thanks for the tip to look him up.

Thanks folks. Yeah Sal, on any given day it might be cajones, or blind faith, or just plain stupidity.

Fun to try these things though. Otherwise I’d look back later and wish I had. The clock’s always tickin’.

Roger

Sounds great, Roger! Bashful singers need not apply to sing this one!

Hey Roger,

Not a huge fan of the original, but I think this stripped down version brings out much more of the heartache of the song and the story. Plus you got to demonstrate quite the range! I enjoyed it thoroughly - well done!

Cheers,

Dave
