Default Harmony Cremona archtops

I picked up a 1940 Harmony Cremona IV archtop recently and was pleasantly surprised. It has a carved spruce top and solid maple back and sides. It had been loved and played for many years, as the neck wear and fretboard shows. It sounds wonderful, with subtle natural reverb and complex overtones. It is not the Epiphone Devon I have but am amazing value in a vintage carved archtop.

Anyone out there with an opinion on Cremonas?

Hi unfamiliar with the Cremona, but I have a Monterey that came to me in 2006 which is a perfectly fine rhythm box.

That's a beautiful looking and sounding guitar (I watched the video). For more info on the Monterey https://web.archive.org/web/20161023.../name/monterey. The Cremonas are earlier and have carved, not pressed, tops. But they don't have truss rods like yours, either!

Liked the first Cremona so much that I scored another one that i will meet in person for the first time tomorrow. A Harmony Cremona VI made in 1945, with the wartime wooden taipiece and pickguard. Carved soruce top over a solid maple, 16" body. Each guitar is its own animal so stay tuned....

The Harmony Cremona VI arrived and I am still getting it setup right but it is in near mint condition and plays well. Not an Epiphone or a Gibson, but has its own sound. Here is a short demo. In the first Grant Green lick you can hear the natural reverb and harmonics from the carved top. In the changes to Moonlight in Vermont you can hear the overall tone. All with a few flubs but you'll get the idea. https://soundcloud.com/user-30000627...?ref=clipboard
