...I clamped them into a jig that I made (again, for my own peace-of-mind) to hold them in place while I drill...

The "pucker-effect" was still there, even with the prep...because there's a lot of work that has already gone into the neck at this point.

I am sure you handled that just fine Joel

Well this Black Lion aka the top shelf Wilborn has officially headed into the finishing stages, about 8 coats so far and 7 or 8 more to go. This is the watching paint dry phase!

If I get any more pics I will post.

OK, here are a couple of pics after a week or so in the spray booth. I think there are 15 coats of nitrocellulose lacquer on it which has to cure and then will get wet sanded and polished. I really am at a lose for words here...

Eye popping! The whole thing is gorgeous. Really like that Snakewood heelcap. Hope you get to play it some in between looking at it.

WOW! Another beautiful museum piece from Ben. It is so pretty, I would be afraid to play it so it does not get dinged or scratched.

I am really looking forward to Ben's demo and commentary on this one!

Yes, for sure, and it will be even more so after a little work! Lovely isn't it?

You and I are so much alike. I mentioned the heel cap to Ben specifically too. Oh, I will play it alright. I have a feeling with BRW and that perfect redwood from Lowes, it is going to be legit!

Thank you, I will play it, but I will be careful with it you can be sure! Yes, Ben's videos are a high point of the build, but sad also, because that means it is over also.

Thanks for following along! Yes, this one has my interest for sure lol. I would guess about another month, curing, finish sanding, bridge, fitting neck...just guessing though.

Wow Tom, sweet guitar! I forgot what you and/or Ben have named this one, but when I look at it I think "chocolate"...rich yummy chocolate.

That Snakewood was the PERFECT choice! Now I gotta get me one with snakewood. I've always loved that wood, and am yet to own a guitar trimmed with it.

Well, I was calling it the top shelf guitar as the top wood came from a local lumber yard and when I saw it was 3/4 thick, 8 inches wide and 2 feet long, perfect for books to sit on.

I believe The Master is calling it the Black Lion, which is probably better!

The way that kind of desert sunburst looks with the black side wood is just spectacular. Every element gets to stand out, without overshadowing anything else. Every time I look I find something else that jumps out at me.

That is a good looking guitar. I love the darkness. I look forward to seeing this in person.
