Went back and played with that Mitchell some more.

It will be my next guitar.

They are great guitars at very reasonable prices.
A few weeks later I saw a HG75SEG-O and was captivated by its beauty. Tried it out to find that beauty was much more than just surface deep. Couldn't justify the purchase at that time. Now they're gone. Maybe it'll come back, like the D-1212E apparently has.

I did end up getting one of those Mitchell 12-strings though.

Then I picked up a Mitchell 12 string. It had the widest nut I've ever experienced on a guitar. It was "love at first 2nd-fret A chord" and the tone wasn't bad at all. I'm no fan of built in electronics, but it has a tuner on it, so it gets a pass.

Might've found my next couple guitars.
I am a big fan of Seagulls, and the wider neck is a significant factor in that. Add nice tone and they fact that they are built like a tank and you have a great knock about, take anywhere guitar for not a lot of dough. I assume you played a newer one? If so, try and find an older model with short scale, they are even better in my opinion and can usually be found at good prices ($200-$300) used.

If you're hankering for a 12-string and dig the tone of a Seagull, why not two-for-one?? The cool thing about these Seagull 12s is that they still have the slightly shorter scale.

Jeez, those are definitely a bargain. Congrats! Gotta love a 12-string! I play mine 95% of the time. (Well, they do make up 80% of my acoustics.)
