Default WHAT IS YOUR EASIEST PLAYING GUITAR?

I have a ... few... guitars. Some custom built one-of-a-kind. Some high-end woods. All spectacular and wonderful sounding guitars. However only one can be the "easiest" playing guitar. All have been set up and play smooth and easily but my Larrivee OM-03 is hands down the easiest. Like half my guitars it is full-scale and strung with John Pearse 550SL strings. It just edges out my Martin 000-18 and if I didn't play 3+ hours regularly at events and gigs I probably wouldn't notice the slight difference between the two - and the 000-18 is short-scale. It is not the most expensive (cheapest). It's not the loudest. It's not the prettiest. But it is lightly built and a wonderful gigging guitar - and it is the easiest playing guitar I've ever played. It sounds great, looks good, great size, satin finish (not my favorite) but man is she great in the hands. She also amplifies and records great as well.

So, what is your easiest playing guitar?

My LG2 American Eagle. Plays like an electric. My Taylor is as good as a dreadnought strung with mediums can be, but the little LG2 is effortless.

Default Easiest playing guitar

Mine is a Yairi DY-45. The action is low and plays easily from 1st fret up to the last. I use an amp if I play with others since it is not a loud guitar, probably due to the low saddle. It's a great guitar to play for hours. I used Medium Light GHS Silk & Bronze.

I do my own setups, so I would say all my guitars "play easy".

Only because it has a "beefy neck" would I say my OM-18 Authentic '33 is a bit harder to play up the neck, but it has such a glorious sound it's worth the effort..........

All are easy but I would say my Breedlove Frontier Concert is the easiest. It also has volume, sustain, tone, looks so it's also among my favorites. Coincidentally, it is also still at factory set up. They set it up for me prior to delivery so I've not needed to do any work on it yet. Because it's an all-around killer it is my main gigging guitar.

With the best setup I've ever seen/felt on ANY guitar....my Taylor Fall Ltd.

That said, my Eastman E1OOSS is a microsecond behind it.

I only have three guitars at the moment, an Alvarez MD-60, a George Lowden designed 12 string and a telecaster.

The 12 string is always harder to play than a 6 string but this one plays quite easily for a 12 string. The tele is getting a new neck to replace the 1 5/8 one that was on it from the factory. With my hands that narrow neck made it impossible to play cleanly.

So at the moment, my Alvarez Masterworks MD-60 is the easiest to play and is one of the easiest I've played since I started playing 15 years ago.

Both my 000-28 and my D-28.

Setup by the guy who looks after Martin Simpson's guitars (UK guitarist).

If we're only talking acoustic then my DRS, but if we are including electrics my Les Paul is so smooth it almost plays itself (my Schecter is only a bit behind it).

All my guitars are set up so they play easily. There’s not a bad one in the bunch. However there’s just something about my Collings OMs that make them the nicest touch for me.

while they are all easy, i seem to gravitate to the 0015m as my songwriting partner. not quite sure what a hard playing guitar is? if it is hard to play, perhaps it needs a setup.

play music!
