how many guitars do you have?

We've only got four.
I have:
Yamaha FG710s Acoustic
Squier Bullet Stratocaster
Martin Backpacker.

My Wife has a generic black acoustic nylon string which I sometimes play.

Let's see, 3 acoustic, 1 Reso, 4 electrics and 4 amps. I'm actually really happy with my D-18 and 555 and really don't see that changing. On the electric side, I'd like to add another PRS or two, but we'll see.

I'm probably 7-8 years away from retirement and some serious guitar decisions will have to be made as we plan on becoming highway vagabonds. As sweet a lady that she is, I just don't see my wife letting me take all my guitars with me! I might just leave all of them with my kid's and pick up a D-15 or another 210 to travel with.

3 electrics 3 acoustics. The herd would’ve been 3 more electrics but sold them. One of the acoustics is a 12 string that’s pretty much unplayable. But it was a gift so I have a hard time parting with it. My other acoustics are cheap, one is a Fender dread all laminated (plays great though) and the other is a Japanese made guitar from the early 70’s. OM size, sounds great, but can’t get along with the hard V profile neck.

Thinking of selling them both, save some money and get me that Taylor 310 I’ve been gasing for.

Everyone starts with one or two guitars, but as time goes by guitars keep walking into the house, and no one seems able to stop them.

If one does alternate tuning, and different style of music, then they will definitely need a few at least. But if they also travel with guitars, then they will need back ups and etc.

But in my case, I wanted to see how that particular guitar would sound, and give a try. They were supposed to be returned after, but then they just ended up staying.

We operate out of two homes, 1,300 miles apart and we both play. We have two acoustics in one home, and three acoustics in another home. We also have a Rainsong carbon fiber and a Voyage Air for travel. IMO, everyone must come to terms for what works for them. Simply enjoy & play!

My motto is if you don’t use something for a year you don’t need it. I’m getting close to that time with my electrics. Love acoustics too much. That being said I’ve had a few acoustics and an amp for sale locally and no luck. Would like to trim the herd to six or seven.

2. I've discovered that I am somewhat of a minimalist. If I have a guitar that isn't being played I tend to move it after a few months. I couldn't be more content with my 000-15 and 000-18GE. They are both more guitar that I could ever use or need.

I feel much the same way. Ever since acquiring the 000-15m I find myself wondering whether I still need a dread. And yet, around AGF a fellow who only owns three guitars can still consider himself an ascetic, especially if one of those is a travel guitar.

(And yet there are dark days when I suddenly realize I don't own a 12-string, or an acoustic/electric, or....)

Should not have counted - I am up to eight. Two are being donated by the end of summer and I’ll put one more up for sale. That will get me down to four acoustic guitars of differing sizes and wood combinations plus a travel guitar.
