I've lately been contemplating getting a dread. I'm primarily a strummer and although I've really enjoyed my Martin 0001XAE, I've never really had that 'keeper' feeling about it. Lsst week I stopped by the local GC and played a DRS2. I've played a half dozen or so over the years and found them to be very consistent. i was able to find a used one online for a nice price. GC offered me a reasonable trade-in value for my 000 and the bartered a bit on the price of the DRS2, so I pulled the trigger. It arrived yesterday. GC rated the guitar as 'great' shape, although I would argue it's in mint/new. The plastic is still on the pic guard, absolutely no blemishes, no fret wear....I'm over whelmed and its cosmetic shape. I was nervous as I tuned it up and it's initial tone was meh. I threw on new Lifespans and...wow. I love this guitar. Great Martin D-18ish tone/volume/projection. I'm thrilled. Here she is...along with an anti-theft system. Please forgive my struggles with pic upload

Congrats on the new Martin! This was my first Martin so I wasn't really sure what to expect but what a wonderful sound!

I recently changed strings to StringJoy PB strings. You might want to give them a try. I don't play my DRS2 every day yet the strings, even after about 2 weeks, sound brand new to my ears.

Anyway, enjoy your new guitar!

(Beautiful dog too!)

Best,
PJ
