Default Martin 00016cp (Guitar Center Custom)???

Hello all - I am new to this forum, so please excuse any breach of etiquette.

I recently acquired a Martin 00016cp (Guitar Center Custom); it looks and sounds great, which is all that really matters. BUT I am trying to determine exactly what this guitar is and where it fits in terms of value. I have called Martin and all they told me is that it was made in 1998. I have not been able to find another one on the internet. I know that GC has several runs of "custom" 00016's made, but those are usually numbered i.e. 1 of 200; this one is not. The only designation is GC00016cp "Custom".

As you can see in the pics (hopefully) the woods and appointments are above and beyond a typical 00016. Looks to me like spruce top, rosewood back and sides (gloss finish), ebony pegs, fretboard and saddle; snowflake inlays; triple abalone around the sound hold and around the binding; etc.

Which brings me to my question...has anyone ever come across one of these? Can you tell me anything about it? Is it more desirable or rare?

Thanks in advance for any help!

"404. That’s an error.

The requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know."

You'll perhaps find more help by inquiring at the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum https://umgf.com/

Guitar Center runs are usually slightly different than “standard” models and usually great Martins. Martin distributor’s can order runs of specified guitars. The one you have may be one of 200 or 50 or? The value is going to be somewhere around other 000-16’s. I would check with GC for specifics on that particular model.

Pics still not visible.

But to cut to the chase: No CG custom will be rare or particularly desirable. Not so to say it it is not a decent instrument.

Your query seems to assess whether this instrument is particularly valuable. It is not.
