Default Pro Bowl craziness

I'm not a fan of the NFL's Pro Bowl, as I know many of you aren't. We don't need to get into those reasons.

Tyler Huntley, QB for the Baltimore Ravens, is going to the Pro Bowl. He replaced Lamar Jackson when he was hurt. Huntley threw 2 TDs this season and ranked 48th in passing yards with 658. The QBs selected ahead of him can't make it (Mahomes is playing in the SB and other QBs are hurt). Still, I can't believe there wasn't a better QB that could make the team ahead of Huntley.

Your thoughts?

And they kept calling Purdy Mr. Irrelevant. New pro bowl term “irrelevant pro bowler”.

The new format is at least likely to be more entertaining than a “real game”.
It’s a diversion, nothing more.

Flag football... I wonder if we'll see any wardrobe malfunctions?

I never watch the Pro Bowl or any of the college football all star games. But I do think Daniel Jones is better than the guy they have at QB. Edit, my bad, wrong conference.

All star games in general don't interest me. The NBA is the worst (but I haven't followed pro hoops in a long time).

I do watch at least the start of the baseball all star game, just because I always have. It was a big deal as a kid when you couldn't watch 15 different games any night of the week like now.

For me, the Pro Bowl is the No Bowl. I love football, but by this time of year, I’m glad there’s none left to watch except the Super Bowl. I’ve never understood the purpose of the Pro Bowl other than as an advertising money-maker for the NFL. I assume they just want to have something like an All-Star game that baseball, hockey, and basketball have. None of those are great events, but they can be entertaining. That the Pro Bowl really seems lame in comparison to those other mediocre events is kind of embarrassing.

As a Ravens fan I thought this was just insane. So then I looked at the other available QB's:

AFC West - Russel Wilson - Broncos
AFC South - Miles Davis - Texans, Joshua Dobbs - Titans
AFC North - Kenny Pickett - Steelers, DeShaun Watson - Browns
AFC East - Mac Jones - Patriots

Everyone else is hurt.

Maybe they just threw all of those names into a hat and drew one out randomly.

The Pro Bowl used to be played in Hawaii at Aloha Stadium and was fun to watch. Always dependable warm weather and good crowds, mainly from the western states as it was easy to fly in and out of HNL. But the stadium has fallen into disrepair and can't be used anymore. Just another memory from the past I guess.

Attended a few since I live here. Good fun, and it was cool to run into NFL players at random places. I remember seeing this group of mopeds buzzing around Waikiki, and then I realized they were all NFL players on rented mopeds. Quite hilarious to watch.

It’s sad that Aloha Stadium is condemned. Last big event there was Guns n Roses in 2018. The new Aloha Stadium is nothing more but a pipe dream for now.

As for this pro bowl…what a joke. This is the NFL calling the bluff on fans when we say “might as well be flag football”. Hearing the commentators comment as if this is a serious game adds to how lame this is.

I remember going to an NBA all star game as a child of 9 years, very impressive to see your heroes. The pro bowl is the NFL's worst idea of all.
