"Notes" are what the recording engineer receives back from a client after they have reviewed the audio mixdown of some production or recording. Things like, "Could you bring up the vocal a little bit more at 1:32?" Or, "The snare drum is a little too loud. Could you please bring it down a little..."

In the world of drama, notes are the information the cast gets from the director about needed corrections from various actors during the intermission or after the dress rehearsal.
