How did I usher in 2021?

Glad you asked, it gives me a chance to recommend "Recording In Progress", a film covering a lot of ground regarding the recording process, from major studios to the home recordist.



This film is available free to Amazon Prime members, so don't miss it if you watch Prime Video. Around 11:30 I hit "play video" just to see if it was something I might want to bookmark for later watching and within the first minute there was a short segment from Mark Ruble of Blackbird Studios and I knew I was in for the long haul. Mark owned our local studio before moving to Blackbird and I had the pleasant experience of recording at his eclectic Pogo Studios with him behind the board.

Tons of food for thought on the state of studios, the trend toward home studio recording, and where this might all be heading.

Perhaps a bit too grandiose of an undertaking, but it's really thought provoking and may sway you to diving a bit further into the subject matter.

I was well into 2021 when I finished watching, so it was a totally painless transition.
