Default NGD Fender player plus Tele

Still new to electrics and had a regular player series for about a week. I liked it in general but wasn’t happy with the sharp fret ends and a couple of minor things. Then I saw the player plus versions just came out last week so I returned the first one and bought a plus model.

This one is a keeper. The rolled fingerboard feels perfect and the contoured body is much more comfortable as well. The noiseless pickups sound great to me as well. Oh and the push/pull tone knob is a very cool and useable feature.

One of these is very handy to have around as sharp fret ends can develop in any guitar that gets too dry.

It is trivially simple to use and takes shockingly little time to clean up what might at first seem like a guitar headed to a repairman.

You’re right i should get one. In my case it wasn’t really protruding frets it was the bevel edges that were sharp. I’m sure the file would work for that too though.

Sweet! You must be one of the first people with the new Player Plus model. I think it'll be a big hit.

That's a beautiful looking Tele. Glad to hear that you were able to get a different guitar. Congrats and Enjoy!

Thanks. I had no clue they were coming out with these. I’m so fortunate I saw them when I did. I was still able to get 12% off asking price which i am happy about.

Rolled freboard edges make all the difference in the world to neck feel, imo. I'll never get another guitar without them again. Or if I do, I'll be replacing the neck if it's maple or having it done if it's rosewood.

Hey Lillis,
I read your initial NGD post and said to myself, I wonder if this soul knows that Fender just released a new line with the most perfect tweaks to the strats and teles?
I was biting my lip, but I refused to rain on your NGD parade. I am thrilled you found out about the Player Plus series, returned your brand new Player Tele for this new and improved version!
All the best to you,
frankie

Congrats and smart move on making the switch while you could. It is far better to have an instrument you will be satisfied with for the long run.

Thanks, and you’re right about the tweaks being perfect. I couldn’t be happier. There was nothing wrong per se with the regular Player model but I do love the body and fretboard contours and the push/pull tone knob. I’m guessing i’ll Really like the locking tuners too. Also, this one came from Sweetwater and was much more playable out of the box.

Lillis,
It's natural to not like change, but once you use those Fender Locking Tuners you will be spoiled forever because they work so well!!! I had to change out my maple board American Performer Strat and my rosewood board MIM Classic Player Jazzmaster to those tuners because it makes string changes a two minute affair. Like i said, spoiled forever
Enjoy your new axe!
