Totally depends on the sound & dynamics I'm looking for. You'll have noticed the difference between picking Strummer closer to the bridge, up and over the soundhole and beyond?
These are fx to put to good use in your playing.

I'm learning to flatpick and fingerpick guitar to accompany songs. I've played and studied traditional noter/drone mountain dulcimer for many years. And I used to play dobro in a bluegrass band.

All three, depends on the song and the dynamics you need for it. Sometimes I'll even go up on the fretboard, but I'll admit that's not very often. It's more of a "flourish" thing than a bedrock strumming position.

…depending on the song I’ll strum anywhere from right at the bridge to where the the neck joins the body….but most often I’ll be strumming at the edge of the sound hole closest to the bridge….

I have a soundhole pickup in the guitar I play the most, so between that and the bridge side of the hole. (Which requires a little concentration, as I'd rather pick more toward the neck.)

Depends on what tone I’m looking for. Usually strum toward the rear of the sound hole. But I often move forward or back to get different effects.

When I have paid attention, I am usually at the rear of the sound hole. But normally a have no idea.

For strumming I usually strum between the middle and back of the soundhole. For fingerpicking I usually pick more in the middle of the soundhole. I seldom flat pick because, when I do, I pick the wrong strings most of the time. I don't know how anyone can be a bass or lead guitarist. As mentioned in previous posts you can strum or pick anywhere on the strings to get different sounds.
