I don't know if Gretchen Menn has been mentioned. She can do it all: acoustic, jazz, rock. She can also fly your 737 if you want.

I very much enjoy the Memphis Minnie-Kansas Joe McCoy duo--roughly 1929 to 1935.

Yes, I agree, those years were the best with Kansas Joe. Too bad he got jealous of her guitar playing and left her, lol. Luckily she found another guitar playing Joe to marry!

I think this list should definitely include Jessica Dobson (of Deep Sea Diver): https://youtu.be/gcECkMgWkw4?t=40.
And Gwenifer Raymond: https://youtu.be/FRXGFjBy2B4.
And Margaret Glaspy: https://youtu.be/uxglzsJkBJg.
And Sarah Louise: https://youtu.be/0Sjxu6Du62c?t=61.
And Yvette Young: https://youtu.be/_qUaPjLrPjM.
And maybe Sona Jobarteh (though she's more of a Kora player): https://youtu.be/8rvMKm3pZV0?t=60.
And Sidney Gish (who's more of a singer-songwriter): https://youtu.be/zryOygVYC2U?t=987.

And here's a link for Toni Lindgren (mentioned above): https://youtu.be/fmw-EWVmolc.

Toni is an amazing guitarist! With Reina or solo. And with Josh and Carson. Thanks for sharing...so many Dylan songs I don't know?

Another vote for Sierra Ferrell and Sarah Rogo.

Here in France: Nina Attal and Gaëlle Buswel

And why wouldn't I mention that good friend who convinced me I should pick up the guitar?

Nobody has mentioned Emily Elbert yet. What is unique about her as compared to almost anyone else (male or female) is that both her singing and her guitar playing are equally fantastic:

Default Where are all the female guitarists?

Also, Tori Kelly is mainly a singer, but wow can she play the guitar!

Skip ahead to the 1 minute 40 second mark for the performance:

I was lucky enough to take lessons from Mary Flower for awhile. She firmly pushed me down my finger style blues path. She's a master of blues, slide, ragtime guitar, and holds her own with contemporaries like Mike Dowling, Pat Donahue and others. She let Denver years ago, but I was fortunate to attend a workshop she did when she was in town a couple years back. I can't say anyone has been as instrumental to my playing as she was.

That's pretty sweet! I've taken a bunch of her classes, but never lessons. She's one terrific guitarist.

Oh, before I forget, times are a lot better for us women as players, IMO, than even 20 years ago. I remember as a younger player, all too often being treated like a curiosity. Still, I will admit, that even when I go to my favorite guitar shop (one of the reasons I go to it, is because they take me seriously as a player, instead just some female wannabe pop star, who just happens to strum a few chords for appearance sake), the significant majority of guitarists I see there are guys.

For players, don't forget Lita Ford (who frankly when they were both in the Runaways, put Joan Jett to shame - Joan is just a sloppy player in the vein of Keith Richards), and Gwennifer Raymond, who I found out about in a thread in this forum.

Thanks so much EllenGtrGrl, for introducing me to Gwennifer Raymond.
Love her approach to guitar. The melody comes through loud and clear as it is highlighted by waves of pounding Rhythms.

Doesn’t look like anyone’s mentioned yet Madison Cunningham and her awesome tone and lovely, quirky guitar work.

My current favourites - Joanna Connor (blues slide player - great stuff), Aimee Mann (not really known as a guitarist but she writes great tunes and can play when the mood takes her), Karen Dalton (unique voice and I bet you can’t find anyone else who made a B25-12 sound better)
