I am an Engineer for Comcast so our package includes everything except adult packages. Even though I have thousands of channels and a ton of premium channels, my Wife & I watch Prime, Netflix and Disney+ more than anything.

The only pay channel I have is Disney+ and that will be gone after I've seen the three parts of "Get Back", the Beatles documentary.

Peter Jackson re-edited the film we saw as “Let it Be.” There were hours of tape shot, and we saw only a bit of it.

I just signed up for Disney + to watch it.

Here's a link to the discussion on the main forum, including tongue in cheek comments on the advantages of playing a Texan upside down. I’m supposed to watch with my film club later.

Since I pay for cable TV, I am paying for all and every channel that is delivered.

Not really the cost of advertising on broadcast TV is built into the cost of the products There are no free lunches ....

We got rid of "television" and cable here at the ranch about two years ago. It just seemed as though we were paying too much for too little.

Now we have Amazon Prime, You Tube and Netflix...

When others are shelling out $10/month or more for cable channels that's still in my pocket at the end of the month then that's free to me. Feel free to disagree but that remote in my hand means I never have to watch/listen to those advertisements anyway. If the cost is built into the product itself that just means the product costs more for everyone, not just me, and so some people are apparently paying twice per your logic. My just buying the product itself and not the channels means I pay it only once? Still ahead of the game AFAIC.

I have Roku, which I very rarely watch. I have netflix and amazon prime which I watch once in a while. During racing season, Feb thru Nov, I stream Dirtvision-
I usually play a guitar for evening entertainment - or look up things on the internet that pop into my head for one reason or another- I read news on the net while I eat-

I had cable til year before last when the subscription, along with internet service was about to be upped to 188 bucks a month - I dropped cable and lowered my internet speed and my bill went to 80 bucks a month- last year I was offered the same internet access, for 2 years, at 50 bucks a month-

"Ahead of the game" ? Interesting notion , myself I don't view my entertainment as a "game to get ahead of" ... Me, I would rather just enjoy my entertainment than worry about winning a competition . Obviously YMMV

We cut the "cord" several years ago and began saving about $150.00/month. We did add several subscriptions but we're still much to the positive. Currently we have the following:
Netflix
Hulu
Amazon Prime
Disney+
Paramount
Peacock

We'll probably trim this list back a bit over the next year.
