Ed's songs are very tough to play...especially this one and some of his other very slow ones because there is nothing to hide behind...no flashy technical tricks, no high speed playing, and if you make a mistake everyone hears it clearly and there is nothing you can do to hide it. You are way out there on a very quiet and slow limb where your ability to control the nuance of melody and dynamics in tone and meter are everything, and everyone can hear "what you got...or ain't got" as it were.

I would love to hear you replay it on whichever of your other guitars is the most lush and long sustaining modern voiced. This is one song interpretation where long sustain is super helpful in riding out the long spaces in between actual playing.
