College Football: Musical Chairs in the Coaching (Poaching?) Postseason.
I created this thread as an open forum to discuss the REAL postseason in college football -- the coaching carousel that commences the moment the last whistle blows on the last regular season game.
I'll start if off by asking this: Why in the world would Brian Kelly want to leave Notre Dame -- arguably the largest marquee/legacy program in college football -- for the hornet's nest of LSU? It makes no sense to me. Anyone care to opine? sm Last edited by Charmed Life Picks; 11-30-2021 at 11:50 AM. |

Definitely the silly season.
I think in Kelly’s case it’s about trying to win a national championship. Although the schedule and league is a lot tougher than any weak schedule he had at Notre Dame, he’ll have a better chance to get the elite athletes to compete with Bama, OSU Clemson etc at LSU. ND’s admission standards make it to tough to get some of the elite players he’ll have access to within a short radius of LSU. If Miles and Orgeron can win NC’s at LSU then Kelly certainly can.

Read Lou Holtz book about coaching and you will find out a lot about the ins and outs of moving around as a coach in the colleges and even the NFL. As you would expect Lou has a few funny stories to tell, but there are plenty of insider info about the ups and downs of the coaching business.
