Default Drip coffee maker?

All this talk about coffee got me thinking about what coffee maker I should pick up next. Am partial to drip coffee makers. Currently have a Krups and it is just fine.
Anyone crazy happy with the maker they have?

Thanks for any suggestions!

scott

My Krups has lasted me the longest of all my coffeemakers. However, when it comes to taste, the Chemex manual pour over coffeemaker (or any pour over really compared to a drip) makes the smoothest coffee.

Mine's so old they (Cuisinart) don't seem to make that model anymore.

The important thing is a stainless steel thermal carafe. Coffee stays
good a long time when you don't have to pump heat through it.

Yeah, those pour overs are great, but I'm too lazy to use it!

Love the ease and programmability of my drip maker!

Hi Scott,

I agree that the drip machines with metal thermal carafes are the way to go (vs glass). We bought the precursor to this one a few years ago, and I like it a lot. Coffee stays hot for hours. You can find it on Amazon, etc.

I just ordered a bonavida 5-cup automatic. They seem to get good reviews.

Was a French press guy for years and years, and thought it was spectacular coffee.

Switched to a drip style recently. I have come to appreciate coming down the stairs in the morning and having the coffee already made.

The zojirushi is appealing w/ metal carafe.

And, this setup works well for the wife and I. Really good values.

Ninja 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker with Classic and Rich Brews, 60 oz. Water Reservoir, and Thermal Flavor Extraction (CE201), Black/Stainless Steel

And

OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder

Don Pablo Signature Blend - Medium-Dark Roast - Whole Bean Coffee - Low Acidity - 5 Pound (5 lb) Bag - Great coffee, great value.

Everything on amazon. Dang Covid.

i've had a Moccamaster for three or four years, after a long (and expensive) spell with Keurig and other 'pod' machines.

The Moccamaster makes the best coffee I've ever tasted in my own home. Mine's the glass carafe version with a hotplate - my wife and I only drink coffee at breakfast time, so have no need to keep a pot warm for a while.

The price of entry is a little eye-watering, but I expect this machine to pretty much last forever. My only wish is that it was a tad larger, for those mornings when you need a top-up.

Automatic makers got old and we went the Bunn route for a while which was great but after that crapped out we decided to just to a pour over. Simple, inexpensive, nothing to break down.

Same here. My Ninja has been most reliable for workdays. I set it up at night and coffee is ready in the morning on my way out the door. French press on weekend mornings if I feel like it.

We have a kettle. Does that still count?
