1931 Gibson L4 pickup suggestions?
Hi, I have a 1931 Gibson L4 and I am going to be using it as my gigging guitar, I currently have a fishman bridge pickup (made it so no holes were made in the guitar) and a pre amp but it sounds a bit static and overdrives no matter what settings I have on amps. I have a relatively hard picking action too. How do you think I should mic up, or what pickup should I use for gigs?

Hi migs93, I have a 1950 Gibson L-50, I have a vintage De Armond floating pickup, works great! to my understanding De Armond was used by Gibson for many years.

+ 1 for the De Armond floating pickup. I had on on a 1937 L4, sounded great.
