Default Video of Tim McKnight’s Grand-Recording

I’ve had the guitar about a month now and thought I would make a video. Unfortunately the guitar sounds much better than the video but thought it would be a interesting discussion of its attributes. It’s such a awesome musical instrument!

Another majestic musical memento from metropolitan Morral.

Sounds like he hit a sweet spot with this one - loads of bass and warmth with really good string separation and balance.

You're a lucky guy!

A bit frustrating trying to show how awesome this guitar is under the constrains of the electronic reality of posting a Utube. Some have the equipment and knowledge to cut through it all. I have never played a more musical guitar and I have played quite a few. Never have had a guitar where going up the neck doesn’t affect volume or diminish tone seeming at all? The musicality inspires experimentation to bring out its qualities. I play this guitar a little differently given the greater dynamics, thats new to me.

Thanks for sharing your new guitar with us. I have great memories of playing Tim’s fine guitars at the Healdsburg Guitar Festivals.
I have a cedar/EIR OO by Kathy Wingert so I can relate to how your describe the bloom and sustain of the notes.
Congratulations.
Best,
Jayne

Hey thanks for sharing that video Steve. Initially I listened to it on my PC with a set of $7.00 speakers and was less impressed because we both know how great that guitar sounds in person. Then I listened to it from my iPad using ear buds and what a difference in the audio quality bringing the sound much closer to in person reality.

Nice job on the video Steve. That can be nerve racking. And congrats on the guitar. I will fondly remember Tim and I tuning up guitars for McJam and the rumble in my chest hitting an open 6th string on your guitar. We nicknamed the guitar "Thumper". The tone will stay with me a long time.

That’s funny but I can feel that in my chest as well. Hard to put that in a video. At the end of making the video I wondered if I should even post it cause it really doesn’t do the guitar guitar justice. But I’m listening with my IPad Pro speakers, so who knows.

Just put a new set of Elixirs on the guitar and thought maybe a short version of Neil Young’s Cinnamon Girl would show this isn’t your typical Cedar guitar? All mistakes are my own not the guitars. Lol
