Default New Hatcher Build!

After seeing/hearing/reading all the positive Hatcher content over the past year or so, I've commissioned a new Hatcher guitar, and I couldn't be more excited.

Mark and I had an initial phone conversation a few weeks ago, and I followed that up with a ride to Vermont to make some decisions in person, which Mark encouraged. We spent the better part of this afternoon in his shop talking, playing, making back/side, top and fret board choices (I saw the new Dryads in person, so cool).

We landed on some great sounding and looking woods. More on that as things progress, complete with pics.

Mark's a great guy, and really knowledgeable. This is going to be good!

Thanks. Yeah, I'm already stoked about the whole process, Mark and I were geeking out for a few hours. Good times!

OK, here's a bit of early days preview. A little Goncalo Alves (Tigerwood), Desert Ironwood and a bit of Redwood from Tunnel 14. There's definitely a golf joke in there somewhere, but we'll save that for another day. LOL

... you‘re in for a fantastic ride.. I‘ve been through that myself with Mark and still feel the tingle .... how long the excitement builds, waits can seem to be ...
the journey and the result will be worth it... I miss it a little Mark will take good care of you and the new Hatcher.
Enjoy it while you’re in it!

It was great having you up to the studio Craig! We worked through a lot of the specs and woods and goals for your new guitar. It will be a pleasure working with you!

Thanks Mark, right back atcha!

Oh, and for those wondering about the Visesnut cases, I've now seen them first hand. They're really sturdy while being incredibly lightweight. There's a good seal all the way around, too. I brought my J-45 in it's 20 year old Calton case to the studio. Now, I will neither confirm nor deny this, but I'm pretty sure that when I examined and picked up the Visesnut, I shed a tear of relief. Mark said he'd never tell, sooooo.....

Ok, I’m a little envious…maybe a lot…yup. 🙂. A trip to Mark’s shop is on my list on one of my visits up to, or on the way home from Plattsburgh.

Can you share any details, such as the model? Mark’s builds are so elegant. You’re going to own a wonderful instrument!
